Teaching Assistants

We are currently recruiting for enthusiastic, outgoing professional individuals for the position of Teaching Assistants for various courses.  While specific duties for the position of Teaching Assistant may vary with each course, typically they include advance preparation, leading weekly small-group practical sessions, demonstrating relevant techniques and methods to student groups, evaluating student performance of relevant techniques and methods, and offering guidance and mentoring to students.

The courses and times are listed as follows based on term:

FALL TERM

Clinical Physiology (BAS118)  Fridays, 2 to 4 p.m. (one position)
Clinic 1 (CLE100) Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (one position)
Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (one position)
Principles in Research (RES100)  Tuesdays, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. (two positions)
Clinic 2 (CLE201) Thursdays, 2 to 8 p.m. (one position)
PCD Physical Clinical Diagnosis (CLS223) Mondays, 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. (two positions)
Botanical Medicine II (BOT202) Mondays, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (one position)
Health Psychology II (PSY203) Wednesdays, 2 to 4 p.m. (three positions)
Primary Care (CLE303) – double shift Mondays, 1:30 to 7 p.m. (one position)
Primary Care (CLE303) – late shift        Mondays, 4 to 7 p.m. (one position)
Health Psychology III (PSY303)    Tuesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. (three positions)

WINTER TERM

Clinical Physiology II (BAS119)  Fridays, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. (one position)
Massage & Hydrotherapy (hydrotherapy-PHM104) Thursdays, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. (one position)
Clinic 1 (CLE100J) Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (one position)
Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (one position)
PCD Physical Clinical Diagnosis (CLS223) Mondays, 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. (one position)
Naturopathic Manipulation (PHM301) Fridays, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (one position)
Primary Care (CLE303) – double shift Mondays, 1:30 to 7 p.m. (one position)
Primary Care (CLE303) – late shift Mondays, 4 to 7 p.m. (two positions)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • Teaching experience with adult learners, particularly within practical/hands on teaching situations.
  • Clinical experience will be considered an asset for some courses.

Education:

  • Related degree from an accredited health care program and/or a Board licensed ND, MD, DC, or RMT.
  • Training in teaching methodology, measurement and evaluation.

Skills:

  • Excellent written, oral and facilitation/communication skills.
  • Positive demonstrated commitment to student success.
  • Strong motivation to become a contributing member of the team.
