Teaching Assistants

We are currently recruiting for enthusiastic, outgoing professional individuals for the position of teaching assistants for various courses. While specific duties for the position of teaching assistant may vary with each course, typically they include advance preparation, leading weekly small-group practical sessions, demonstrating relevant techniques and methods to student groups, evaluating student performance of relevant techniques and methods, and offering guidance and mentoring to students.

The courses and times are listed as follows based on term:

WINTER TERM (JANUARY 2018 TO APRIL 2018)

Asian Medicine Point Location I (ASM103)  Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 12 noon (one position)
Emergency Medicine (CLS304) Wednesdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (two positions)
Sports Medicine elective (ECE341)

Fridays, 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon (multiple positions)

In-Office Procedures I (NPS315) injection Mondays, 4:30 to 7 p.m. (two positions)
*(4 dates in March/April)
Naturopathic Manipulation II (PHM301) Fridays, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (one position)

SUMMER TERM (APRIL 2018 TO AUGUST 2018)

IMG Clinical Skills Refresher (CLS307i) – six sessions

Wednesdays, 9 to 11:30 a.m. (one position)
*(six sessions)  

IMG Massage/Hydrotherapy (PHM104i)

Fridays, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (one position)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • Teaching experience with adult learners, particularly within practical/hands on teaching situations.
  • Clinical experience will be considered an asset for some courses.

Education:

  • Related degree from an accredited health-care program and/or a Board licensed ND, MD, DC, or RMT.
  • Training in teaching methodology, measurement and evaluation.

Skills:

  • Excellent written, oral and facilitation/communication skills.
  • Positive demonstrated commitment to student success.
  • Strong motivation to become a contributing member of the team.
