CCNM is currently seeking dedicated customer-service oriented security guard.

Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance and Security, this position will be responsible for providing a safe and secure environment in a manner that will contribute to a friendly and invitational atmosphere to all visitors, staff, faculty, students and members of the naturopathic community. Specifically, the Security Guard will be responsible for providing security service at the Colleges’ facilities, including fire alarm monitoring, security and access control, classroom setup, snow removal/shoveling, parking services, enforcement of CCNM rules and regulations and administrative work etc. This position will also work additional hours to cover absences or peak operational periods as required. Available immediately.

Shifts:
Full-time contract: Monday to Friday, 12 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Part-time permanent: Saturday and Sunday, 12 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Rate of pay: $17 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Ontario Security Guard License
  • Training in use of force, first aid and CPR
  • Police Foundations or Law and Security Diploma an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act, basic law and security procedures and citizen powers of arrest
  • Ability to work with alarm systems, computers, fire procedures & systems and access control devices and CCTV
  • Familiarity with Keyscan products
  • Customer service skills to work with all levels of stakeholders
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written
  • Skilled in recalling and effectively relaying information re: building layout, personnel contact information and organizational services and statistics
  • Successful completion of a criminal record check
