Course description

Cosmetic facial acupuncture is one of the country’s fastest growing disciplines of acupuncture. This course is designed to provide the necessary theory, diagnosis, point prescriptions, and home-care information to comfortably and successfully incorporate cosmetic facial acupuncture into your new or existing practice.


  • Explore the history of cosmetic acupuncture
  • Review the structures and function of bones of the skull, cranial nerves, circulatory sys-tem, lymphatic system of the head and neck
  • Compare the skin physiology as it pertains to Eastern and Western medicine
  • Identify acupuncture points and point protocols for cosmetic acupuncture treatment
  • Demonstrate understanding of safety, precautions and contra-indications of treating skin with acupuncture

  • Introduction to cosmetic facial acupuncture
  • Layers of the face from an eastern and eestern perspective
  • Treatment strategies and point prescriptions for cosmetic facial acupuncture
  • Precautions & contraindications. Safe needling skills
  • Cosmetic facial acupuncture clinical practice

Sunday, June 7, 2020 (Day 2)
  • Introduction to skin morphology
  • Skin anatomy and physiology from an eastern and western perspective
  • Skin products ingredients and applications
  • Cosmetic facial acupuncture clinical practice


Participants must be a ND, TCM practitioner, or other health-care practitioner licensed to practice acupuncture. Students in their upper clinical years at CCNM with a minimum of 200 hours of clinical practice may also attend the course. Proof of license will be requested upon registration.
