Leading researchers, clinicians and teachers in naturopathic medicine
Dr. Nick De Groot, ND, has served as the dean of CCNM since 2008. Nick is responsible for the College’s curriculum and for ensuring that the teaching clinics at CCNM meet the highest standards of clinical education and patient care. Previous roles at the College include dean of clinical education, associate naturopathic medical officer and assistant professor of integrated clinical studies.
Dr. Jonathan Prousky, ND, graduated from Bastyr University with a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. At CCNM, Dr. Prousky’s primary responsibility is the delivery of safe and effective naturopathic medical care in his role as the chief naturopathic medical officer. He also coordinates the grand rounds program and supervises in the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic. His private practice focus is on optimizing mental and neurological health with nutrition and botanical (plant-based) medicines.
Dr. Mitchell Zeifman, B.Sc., ND, has been practicing as a naturopathic doctor since graduating from CCNM in 2003 and is currently associate dean of clinical education. Mitchell oversees the clinical program, which is the culmination of student education at CCNM, at time when the knowledge, skills and attitudes built over the first three years of the naturopathic medicine program, is applied to patient care.
Dr. Jasmine Carino, ND, graduated from CCNM in 1998 and was one of the first NDs accepted into the two-year residency program. As the associate dean, curriculum and residency program, Jasmine designs short- and long-term strategies for curriculum change, oversees the residency program and helps ensure delivery of high-quality continuing education.
Dr. Jonathan Tokiwa, ND, completed his Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at the University of Toronto and graduated with a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Furthermore, he pursed graduate studies focusing upon education and completed his Master of Education Specialist degree in adult, community, and higher education from the University of Calgary. Prior to starting a career in naturopathic medicine, his previous clinical experience includes emergency medicine and paramedical services.
