You are here

Our faculty brings together leading researchers, clinicians and teachers in naturopathic medicine. NDs, PhDs, MDs and other specialists work together at CCNM to help students prepare for successful careers as naturopathic doctors.

Dr. Nick De Groot, ND (Class of 1998)

Dr. Nick De Groot, ND, has served as the dean of CCNM since 2008. Nick is responsible for the College’s curriculum and for ensuring that the teaching clinics at CCNM meet the highest standards of clinical education and patient care. Previous roles at the College include dean of clinical education, associate naturopathic medical officer and assistant professor of integrated clinical studies.

“I feel honoured to be working with the talented students who come to CCNM. Watching them grow into the future leaders of the profession is truly inspiring.”

Dr. Jonathan Prousky, ND

Dr. Jonathan Prousky, ND

Dr. Jonathan Prousky, ND, graduated from Bastyr University with a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. At CCNM, Dr. Prousky’s primary responsibility is the delivery of safe and effective naturopathic medical care in his role as the chief naturopathic medical officer. He also coordinates the grand rounds program and supervises in the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic. His private practice focus is on optimizing mental and neurological health with nutrition and botanical (plant-based) medicines.

“My goal is to help people feel more regulated and resilient. NDs can help a lot of people but you have to put time and energy into it as it takes time to see improvement. I love seeing the positive changes in my patients.”

Dr. Mitchell Zeifman, ND

Dr. Mitchell Zeifman, B.Sc., ND, has been practicing as a naturopathic doctor since graduating from CCNM in 2003 and is currently associate dean of clinical education. Mitchell oversees the clinical program, which is the culmination of student education at CCNM, at time when the knowledge, skills and attitudes built over the first three years of the naturopathic medicine program, is applied to patient care.

“As the associate dean of clinical education, I oversee the culmination of our students’ full-time entry into clinical practice and their transition to being interns, when their foundational learning is applied to patient care. It is a very exciting time for students. I am privileged to witness the development of our talented students throughout the clinical program.”

“Since graduating from this program in 1998, I have played a small, and sometimes large role in the changes in the curriculum over the years. I love being a part of a team that is unwavering in its intent to improve the educational experience of our students, and graduate confident and competent naturopathic doctors.”
