This seminar will discuss the randomized trials done with Canada Post employees on the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease. It will explore the study methodology, the results and the lifestyle, dietary and supplement interventions used. Framingham’s Cardiovascular Risk Profile, the diagnostic criteria for metabolic syndrome as predictors of cardiovascular risk, as well as key dietary changes to influence HDL:LDL ratio and the impact of fish oil on CVD, will be discussed.
Orest Szczurko, M.Sc. N.D.

Paul Saunders, PhD, ND, DHANP
Modifications for Spinal Manipulation (2-Manipulation and 1-General)
Healthcare providers who perform Spinal Manipulative Therapy (SMT) often sustain various injuries to themselves, particularly of the hand, wrist and shoulder, necessitating they modify the manner in which they perform SMT. This CE session will review the evidence, and, delivered in a practical lab environment, naturopathic doctors will be shown how to modify their practice for various clinical scenarios.
Dr. Brian Gleberzon, DC
Updates in Jurisprudence (2-Jurisprudence credits)
This presentation will cover relevant topics related to ethics and jurisprudence governing the naturopathic profession. Topics such as conflict of interest, fee splitting, business relationships with companies and patients, as well as insurance fraud and end-of-life decision making will all be covered. You will also have a chance to ask any questions regarding these topics, or others of interest, to our resident expert.
Keith Pownall, LLB, LLM
Bio-identical Hormones (2-Pharmacology credits)
Our understanding of hormone replacement therapy is rapidly evolving. Potential benefit and risk to any one patient is dependent on the form of the hormone used, route of administration, age at menopause, specific menopausal symptoms, and the overall health status of the individual. This lecture provides an overview of the pharmacology and current scientific evidence regarding bio-hormone replacement, and will assist naturopathic doctors in counseling women regarding its use.
Cheryl Proctor, ND
