Pediatrics
This course examines the growth, development and health promotion of pediatric patients. It also examines common and critical pediatric conditions with respect to case management. Students practice their skills in taking a medical history and performing a physical exam on children of varying ages. They learn how to manage the application of naturopathic principles and therapies to pediatric practice, and how to engage in effective parent education. Emphasis is placed on developing a creative and flexible approach to pediatric care and the importance of referral and contraindications to treatment.
