Primary Research – Clinical Trials:
- Randomized clinical trial to assess the effect of melatonin on lung cancer recurrence and mortality (AMPLCaRe).
- A large five-year multicentred trial that is being conducted in partnership with the Canadian Association of Thoracic Surgeons.
- Funded by the Lotte and John Hecht Memorial Foundation, with the provision of melatonin by SISU Inc., this study is expected to be completed by 2013.
- Pragmatic randomized clinical trial of naturopathic medicine’s ability to treat and prevent cardiovascular disease.
- Multi-centre study supported by a joint project from the Canada Post Corporation and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers.
- Single year trial taking place in Toronto, Edmonton, and Vancouver that finished in 2011 and will be published in 2012.
- Pilot study to assess the safety and effectiveness of a compound natural health product in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
- Randomized trial to explore nutritional deficiencies associated with ADHD. This trial will also test a compound NHP for treatment in this population.
- Funded jointly by a SickKids Research Foundation grant and SISU Inc., this trial should be completed in 2012.
- Randomized clinical trial to test the efficacy of cinnamon as an aid in diabetes to reduce blood sugar levels.
- This study funded by New Chapter Industries to be published in 2012.
- This study funded by New Chapter Industries to be published in 2012.
- Pilot study to explore the effect of three common homeopathic remedies on chronic whiplash.
- Small-scale pilot study supported by the Homeonet Research Network of Canada should be completed in early 2012.
- Small-scale pilot study supported by the Homeonet Research Network of Canada should be completed in early 2012.
- Pilot study to test the effect of using classical homeopathy on insufficient lactation.
