Housekeepers (Casual/On call)

We are currently seeking hard working individuals with strong prioritization skills to provide housekeeping services in our environmentally conscientious workplace on a casual/on call basis from Monday to Sunday. Hours of work generally fall between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. as required. Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, this role will be responsible for cleaning all surfaces including floors, walls, kitchens, washrooms, emptying and sorting garbage, recyclables, and adhering to the college health and safety practices. This position is responsible for cleaning in various areas of the college as required including deep cleaning public areas.  The successful candidates will typically work on Mondays and Fridays from 2:45 pm to 10:45 pm. and may be required to work additional hours to cover absences or peak operational periods as required. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in a housekeeping position
  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to work unsupervised
  • Fluent in the English language both written and orally
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of sterilization procedures
  • Ability to work with floor scrubbers, carpet cleaners, carpet shampooers and various other cleaning equipment
  • WHMIS qualification an asset
  • Ability to lift and carry articles not exceeding safety limits set forth by the Ministry of Labour
  • Must be flexible and be available to work upon short notice (i.e., same day) when needed
