Membership in INER

The Institute of Naturopathic Education and Research (INER) is the formal legal name for The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). INER consists of members, who have certain rights and responsibilities, and the operating body that is CCNM. Professional members of INER fulfill a role comparable to shareholders within a public corporation. Among other powers, the professional members have a right to elect the Board of Governors, remove members of the Board of Governors, appoint the auditor, receive and examine the financial statements of the corporation, and conduct other such matters of business as are properly brought before the annual and special meetings of the members. Members are not liable for the acts of the Corporation.

Why become a member of INER?

CCNM is committed to educating individuals who are to become eligible for entrance into the naturopathic medical profession. Beyond this, CCNM views itself as a change agent promoting the acceptance of naturopathic medicine through research and education. Members of INER have an opportunity to exercise oversight on behalf of the profession in order to ensure that these ends are being effectively and efficiently met, and that CCNM respects the principles of naturopathic medicine.

In recognition of the service that members are performing for the profession, CCNM has made membership in the alumni association free to INER members who are College graduates.
