Research

The Department of Research and Clinical Epidemiology at CCNM is a world-wide leader in advancing our understanding of complementary and naturopathic medicine as a viable, sustainable health-care system.

By fostering a culture of research, CCNM investigates a myriad of topics, from addiction to pediatrics, in order to explore the real strengths of naturopathic medicine, test therapies and influence policy. Our many research partnerships enable CCNM to focus on high-profile and current issues of interest, the outcomes of which benefit both the naturopathic and public health communities alike.

Our research faculty is amongst the brightest in the field, cultivating research initiatives with the CCNM community and constantly engaging our students through teaching, experiential learning and mentorship.

Research is funded through private and government agency grants and through matched contributions, research partnerships, and personal and corporate giving programs.

RECENT RESEARCH NEWS

CCNM research was very well represented at the AANP convention this year in Portland, Oregon. Over 10 oral and poster presentations were delivered by members of CCNM’s research team, including Kieran Cooley, ND, Gillian Flower, ND, Heidi Fritz, ND, Deborah Kennedy, ND, and Dugald Seely, ND. Of the 20 research presentations at the AANP, seven related to CCNM research. We are truly a hotbed of innovative research with respect to complementary medicine.
