Building mental, emotional and spiritual strength enables us to better manage our lives.Be Your BEST Self (BYBS) is a weight-management and healthy lifestyle program designed for people who are committed to losing weight and improving their health. There is also a BYBS Kids and Teens program geared specifically for younger people.

Although good nutrition is crucial to good health, diet is not the only aspect of effective weight loss. Research shows that success depends on:

  • healthy diet
  • regular physical activity
  • strong willingness to change
  • realistic expectations and goals

An integral part of the program is group support, which is proven to influence success through positive feedback and encouragement. In addition to getting the encouragement you need to stay motivated, BYBS meetings include valuable lectures, tips and facts to keep you healthy, well-informed and losing weight. Attendance at these support groups is mandatory.

The program is 10 weeks long for current RSNC patients and 13 weeks for new patients. New patients receive three visits as part of the program, at which they receive a full physical exam, relevant lab tests (if required) and a urinalysis.

During the first week, participants keep a detailed record of their diet, eliminations and general energy levels.

Fees:
New patients – 13 weeks: $199 + tax*
Current patients – 10 weeks: $99 + tax

Be Your BEST Self for Kids and Teens (BYBS-KT) is a healthy lifestyle program that evolved from the success of the adult BYBS program.

Inspiring healthy activing living for our youth.In this interactive and informative health program, kids/teens/parents will be inspired to maximize their individual health. They will explore and get answers to their personal questions in a safe and supportive group environment led by naturopathic doctors.

Each session will include an information based seminar on important age related health topics including:
 

  • healthy digestion
  • whole foods diet
  • weight concerns
  • anxiety, depression
  • stress management
  • acne and skin health
  • puberty concerns

Who can attend?

  • Youth between 12 - 18 years of age (Youth and children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent)
  • One or both parents

Program Fees

$100 for four weeks or $35 for individual sessions.

Fall session: Nov. 12, 19, 26 and Dec. 3, 2010
Winter session: March 4, 11, 18 and  April 1, 2011
All sessions take place in conference room 9 in the RSNC from 5 - 7 p.m.
