Bob Bernhardt
The president and CEO of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), a position he has held since January 2004, Bob Bernhardt, B.Sc., M.Ed., LLM, PhD, is responsible for strengthening the connections between CCNM students, faculty and staff, and advancing the College's reputation for providing cutting-edge naturopathic medical education, research and clinical care.
Dr. Bernhardt's academic background includes a B.Sc. in mathematics and physics from the University of Guelph, a B.Ed. in mathematics and science, a master of education degree in computer applications in education from the University of Toronto, and a master of laws degree in administrative law from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. He received his doctorate in leadership and higher education from the University of Toronto in March 2009.
Dr. Bernhardt has many years of experience working in the post-secondary education sector. He served as Dean of Academic Affairs and VP Programs and Business Development at DeVry College of Technology in Toronto and as Director of Education at the Law Society of Upper Canada, and has held numerous positions at Sheridan College of Applied Arts and Technology, including Corporate Change Leader, Dean of the School of Information and Computer Systems, Director of Strategic Planning and Dean of Academic Planning and Analysis. He also worked at the Higher Colleges of Technology (United Arab Emirates) as Head of Business and Academic Studies.
In addition, Dr. Bernhardt has worked as a consultant on the provision of computer services at Cambrian College in Sudbury and for the teacher colleges system in the Sultanate of Oman. He has also been a member of numerous provincial committees for the Ontario college system and currently serves as a director on several boards, including Learning for a Sustainable Future and the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges.
